Watercolor has been in the forefront of Jane’s art career, but she also works in other media and techniques including acrylic, pastel, and block printing. Jane’s career in biology and environmental sciences has influenced her subject matter and where she loves to work. Originally from Atlantic Canada, Jane typically divides her year between Northern California in the west, and Prince Edward Island in the east.  Jane is an experienced plein air artist and an active member of the Santa Clara Valley Watercolor Society (SCWS) Paint Sites group. She believes painting outside affords spontaneity and allows her to experience light and color at its best.  Jane has exhibited her work with the SCVWS, the Los Altos Art club, and the Pacific Art League.
